Contrast Literary Magazine

Every Spring, we publish a literary magazine that consists of short stories, photographs, poetry, etc. This year, our goal has extended to providing a place for writers to share their work and to create a
community for writers on campus.
Membership Information
As of Spring 2007, the combined Editorial Staff and Design & Layout Team is 15 members
strong. We have one person who leads the Readings and Workshops, making it 16 active members.
Requirements:
None! Just have to enjoy literature in one form or another. Although, it is helpful to know grammar when on the Editorial Staff and how to manipulate computer programs if on the Design & Layout team.
Meeting Information
In the Fall, Contrast meets as a group once a month. However, every week, we have "creative" meetings that alternate between piece workshopping and poetry reading. During the Spring, the monthly meetings increase to weekly as the submission deadline for the magazine draws closwer. The workshops and poetry readings continue throughout the Spring semester as a weekly activity.
There is free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate (sometimes with marshmallows!) at the workshops and poetry readings.
Time and Location:
Currently, the Editorial and Design & Layout staff members meet on Tuesdays at 7:30pm in Hill 104.
The workshops and poetry readings, which are open to the McDaniel College student body, meet on Thursdays at 7:00 pm in the Richwine Room, found on the third floor of Hoover Library.
Group Activities/Events
Our main activity is obviously focusing on the publication of the Contrast Literary Magazine. However, we also sponser the weekly workshops and poetry readings.
On April 19th, Contrast will have the Unvieling of Spring 2007's Contrast Literary Magazine.
