PORTFOLIO OVERVIEW

Purpose of the Portfolio

This portfolio is for English 1101-15, taught by Jen Wollenweber. In it are three papers and a complete research paper for various subjects according to each assignment. It is here so that Jen can access the papers via Internet, rather than paper.

In my portfolio I am including the papers that I write for this class, including three essay papers about various subjects and one large research paper. The portfolio is a place in which I can publish my work on the Internet for Jen to grade and review, as well as other peers. Using an online portfolio helps everyone because it is able to be accessed from anywhere and no one has to worry about hard-copy papers.

Portfolio Successes and Things to Look For

In my portfolio, my progress can be monitored by travelling from the first paper, draft one, to the research paper, final draft. I have problems with organization, so my improvement can be seen through how well I organize my papers from the beginning of class as compared to the last paper I turn in for a grade. I may even post my grades for the paper in a separate link so that my progress can be seen from the professor's point of view compared to the reader. Things to look for in this portfolio are opinion-based, argumentative papers from one side or another to a particular subject or issue in life. Most of my papers will discuss homosexuality, and my opinion on various other subjects in life. My research paper will be based on the visibility of homosexuals in television and film.
